Researchers at the University of Exeter Medical School studied more than 1,000 participants as they moved to urban areas with more or less green space. Those who relocated to tree-lined streets near parks and gardens saw  immediate mental health improvements that lasted for three years or more. Not everyone can up and move, but you can try to seek out green spaces in and around your hometown. Afternoon stroll in the park, anyone?
