Research has found a correlation between generosity and traits we associate with good health, like stress-reduction and lower blood pressure. One reason that many people donate to charity is tax subsidies – it’s possible to do good while helping your own wallet. Now, a new study shows that the tax subsidies themselves have been linked to better health. Among research subjects with the highest subsidy rate, 36.6% of respondents said they were in excellent health. The study also found that charitable subsidies decreased the likelihood that participants suffered from lung disease, arthritis, and some psychological and emotional issues. That’s just one more reason to donate to cause you care for.
