Exercise and Your Baby’s Brain

Researchers at the University of Montreal asked pregnant women to either exercise for 20 minutes three times a week, starting in their second trimester, or to forego working out. A week and a half after birth, the researchers tested the electrical activity of the infants’ brains. Those born to active mothers had more advanced cerebral activity, suggesting that their mothers’ moderate exercise helped their brains mature faster.
