Knowing Your Nails

Nails are composed of small, delicate cells called onychocytes, which are mainly made up of keratin. Onychocytes are layered, overlapping each other like shingles on a roof, which makes them absorb water really easily. That’s why when you take a long bath, your nails get super soft and bendy.
