Alcohol Connected to Stroke Risks

Heavy drinking can increase your chances of having a more severe stroke earlier in life.

New research suggests that three or more drinks per day can increase the risk of having an early stroke. The study of more than 500 stroke victims found that heavy drinkers had suffered their strokes at an average age of 60, while their non-heavy drinking peers had had strokes, on average, 14 years later.

Alcohol has been linked to some benefits, though. Aim for one or two drinks to increase lifespan and boost heart health—not four or five. We can cheers to that!
