Christie Wilcox has always been a biologist at heart, though she received her Bachelor of Science with honors from Eckerd College in 2007 to officially become a marine biologist on paper. She is currently working on her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Hawaii. In addition to her studies and research, she writes and blogs about a broad variety of scientific topics, recently joining Scientific American as a part of their blog network
. She also, on occasion, tries to enjoy life in paradise, and can sometimes be found playing with terrestrial biologists or on stage performing poor renditions of popular songs at local karaoke bars.
