Jennifer Aniston has already earned praise for her performance in the upcoming indie movie “Cake,” and even higher praise spending the entire film makeup-free in an unstyled brown bob. Jennifer Aniston and I have the exact same look! Where’s my Oscar buzz?

Aniston told Deadline Hollywood’s “Contenders” panel that she “disappeared” into the character of Claire Simmons, who is covered in scars after a car crash. Being on camera without makeup was “so fabulous – so dreamy and empowering and liberating. The only time I had to sit in the makeup chair was just for the scars.” Maybe her finacee Justin Theroux will take a hint and use less eyeliner on “The Leftovers”?

Aniston is just the latest celeb to go natural onscreen: Reese Witherspoon ditched her makeup and her “vanity” for “Wild,” the film based on Cheryl Strayed’s brutal memoir of hiking the Pacific Coast Trail. These movies are exciting steps, but we hope that one day, an already naturally gorgeous person being coated in layers and layers of professionally applied makeup won’t be newsworthy.
