Update, 5/4/15 at 10:30 a.m.: Kensington Palace has revealed the new royal baby’s name– Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. According to NBC News, the newborn’s full title is Her Royal Highness Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. The name pays tribute to Princess Diana, the newborn’s late grandmother.

Thirty-three-year-old Kate Middleton gave birth to the new little Princess of Cambridge on Saturday, May 2, and introduced her to the world on the steps of the luxurious Lindo Wing of London St. Mary’s Hospital only hours later. Now, Us Weekly‘s sources are claiming that one reason the Duchess was able to be active (and glamorous) so quickly was because she didn’t use an epidural during her two-and-a-half-hour birth.

The most popular method of pain medication during labor, epidural anesthesia is a regional anesthesia that blocks pain in a particular region of the body. According to the American Pregnancy Association, it’s used in 50% of pregnancies. Since Middleton and Prince William were able to leave the hospital mere hours after her delivery, People surmises that she had the “basic nitrous oxide ‘gas and air'” pain relief option instead.

Middleton delivered with the help of midwife Arona Ahmed and Professor of Midwifery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Jacqui Dunkley-Bent, who also helped during the delivery of Prince George, the couple’s 22-month-old son. Although her delivery was short, People reports that she was likely in labor at Kensington Palace for some time before heading to the hospital at 5 a.m. with husband William and palace staff at her side. She gave birth only two-and-a-half hours after being admitted. The newborn princess, whose name has not been released yet, weighs 8lb 3oz.

Of course, because these are royals, we have more than weight details: before Middleton left the hospital, her hairstylist Amanda Cook Tucker came by to do her hair. She introduced the new Princess No-name to the world in a shift dress by Jenny Packham that everyone, including Jenny Packham, is losing it over.

The happy couple, their son George and the newborn princess are resting for a few days at their London home of Kensington Palace.
