Bad news first: The economy isn’t booming. Fortunately, just because you’ve tightened the purse strings doesn’t mean your romantic life should feel the pinch.
Connecting with your partner should always be a top priority. Date nights are a great way to take time to recharge your relationship. See these five inexpensive date night ideas for you and your honey.
1Dinner and a movie at home.
Sure, going to a fancy restaurant is nice, but you can create magic at home. Stop by the store to grab a movie. Or, even watch a recorded TV show together. Then, pull out the good china, table linens and candles, get in the kitchen and cook!
Doing unexpected things for your partner will always be greatly appreciated. (Of course, be sure to clean up eventually.)
2Picnic and a sunset.
What could be more romantic than watching the sunset with your loved one? Just pack a picnic basket with some nibbles; maybe a little cheese, crackers and a nice bottle of wine. Then take a drive to the beach, walk along the shore, take a seat and let nature provide a beautiful backdrop for your time together.
Men don’t always like to shop, but this is an easy way to get them involved and spend time together. One suggestion is to hit up a local farmer’s or flea market. You can walk around together, talk and pick up items to make dinner later that evening, which will only further your interaction.
4Tour a local winery, park or museum.
This is a great way to share a common interest with your partner. Most areas have a historic park or museum that you two can frequent together. Another option — if you both like wine, see if there is a winery near you. Many offer tours and tastings for a small fee.
5Be a kid again.
Take your partner roller skating or bowling, something he loved doing as a child. Not only is it inexpensive, it’s sure to spark a smile, some laughter and maybe even some friendly competition.
When it comes to date night, don’t overthink it. There’s no need to complicate it with extravagant or expensive activities. In the end, it’s about you and your partner spending time together and rekindling the spark that brought the two of you together in the first place.
