tumblr_mg2j50cGt31ruaoizo2_400Happy National Donut Day, everyone! Yes, it’s the first Friday of June, which means companies around the country are giving out FREE DONUTS! From Dunkin’ Donuts to Krispy Kreme to your local donut shop, you’ll definitely be able to find a free treat near you.

We all love a good donut every now and today is as good a reason as any indulge a bit. Although it might be a good idea to split your treat in half … or, um, fourths. We did a little legwork on the caloric content of our favorite donuts and, well, it’s not a pretty sight. The following breakfast treats are so high in calories and sugar that you might be scared away for good. (Notice, we only said “might”, people!)

  1. Starbucks Devil’s Food Doughnut

430 Calories, 23 g fat, 380 mg sodium, and 27 g sugar

Just like their creamy, caffeinated drinks, this Starbucks donut is high in calories, making it one of the worst for you in the bunch. This could be a good one to split and share.

     2Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut

190 Calories, 11 g fat, 75 mg sodium, and 10 g sugar

We’re surprised at you, Krispy Kreme! At 190 calories, this donut isn’t the worst of the lot. We’ll take seven please! (Just kidding…)

3. Entenmann’s 12 Variety Pack Donuts Softee Family Pack

190 Calories, 11 g fat, 210 mg sodium, and 7 g sugar

On the plus side, Entenmann’s donuts have less sugar than some other donuts. However, since it comes in a pack of 12, it’ll be hard to have just one. This would be our recommendation, so long as you can be “one and done.”

4Dunkin’ Donuts Blueberry Crumb Cake Donut

380 Calories, 11 g fat, 390 mg sodium, and 27 g sugar

Just because a donut contains blueberries, doesn’t mean it’s good for you. This Dunkin’ Donuts treat packs a whopping 380 calories — definitely worth the skip!
