Eye cream is one of those products my mother never told me about. When I turned 30, it finally occurred to me that I should start introducing eye cream into my skincare routine — only to find out my girl friends (and even some guy friends!) had been doing it for years. I have natural dark under eye circles as well as sensitive skin, plus my contact lenses can be finicky about eye products. Lucky for me, Exuviance Brightening Bionic Eye Creme ticked all my boxes.

Product: Exuviance Brightening Bionic Eye Creme

Price: $60

We Think:

How to Apply It: Exuviance Brightening Bionic Eye Creme comes in a small bottle with a pump. I applied an appleseed-sized amount onto my finger and used it to daub underneath both my eyes, focusing on the dark circles. (The creme contains vitamin K, which targets the capillaries that cause under eye circles, as well as Exuviance’s patented lactobionic acid.) As per the instructions, I’ve used it both morning and at night after cleansing my skin.

How It Feels: This product melts away into my under eye area without any greasiness. (Nothing is worse than a sticky lotion product that you can feel, especially around the eyes!) It also absorbs into my skin quickly and doesn’t inhibit the application of my under eye concealer and other eye makeup in any way.

Results: I’m always a bit nervous about introducing a new product around my eye area but fragrance-free, paraben-free and ophthalmologist-tested Exuviance Brightening Bionic Eye Creme feels lovely.

It does brighten up my eye area and reduce the appearance of fine lines, meaning my skin will look fresh without makeup on. I’m still waiting for my under eye circles to fade a bit, which I understand can take a few months. (In a clinical study ,Exuviance reported 83% of users saw improved dark circles after four weeks of twice daily use.) In the meantime, it’s a lightweight eye creme that makes me feel I am taking a bold new step in my skincare routine.
