Hello, YouBeauty-ers! :) I love how much I've learned from this site already, and I've only been browsing it for a couple of weeks. However, within the plethora of beauty facts, I have yet to see any articles or discussion about make-up and beauty products that are vegan and not tested on animals. Crazy PETA values aside, products that need to be tested on animals mean they aren't natural enough to go on the shelves without being ingested by a rabbit or mouse, or forced into their eyes, ears or other crevices to check for irritation. Personally, I've been searching for years for products to add to my arsenal that are cruelty-free and have found that they have better effects on my hair and skin than their more popular, animal-tested competition. I'd really like to see YouBeauty take up this issue and help its beautiful community be more aware of how unhealthy animal-tested products can be for both the users and the poor bunnies and mice who are unfortunate enough to be the products' first models.

Hey, I know Aveda has beauty products that are vegan I used to go to school there and they have some really cool stuff from hair products to face cleansers to makeup check it out! Also Lush Cosmetics has a lot of vegan products too. Hope this helps you but I agree they should put some info about vegan beauty products...

Hi everyone.. Great post! I just wanted to share what I've learned about vegan beauty. I launched an all natural, organic and vegan line of makeup five years ago. I did it because there was no good quality makeup that was cruelty free that I wanted to use as a professional makeup Artist. It is very difficult to create a quality line of makeup that is also vegan. Mostly because everyone else isn't as discerning (especially the manufacturers). Not to mention to source vegan ingredients (as well as natural and organic) is very costly. However, here my company is five years later, doing great! And we are still one of the only vegan makeup lines on the market! Just remember that every time you buy a product from anyone, you are voting for them. I'm glad there are people out there who truly care about the products they are using...it makes all the hard work worth it!
