I think the best solution would be to request a cool, dark red toner. Toner can help counteract some of the brassiness and will not damage your hair further. If you are really that unhappy with your color, speak to a manager at the salon and explain that you are not satisfied - they will likely want to fix it for free. It's awkward to have that conversation, but salons will (usually) do anything to keep their clients happy because they do not want to lose business. Try a toner in the salon, and if that doesn't work, you might need to try a stronger semi-permanant hair color to make your highlights darker. Semi-permanant isn't very damaging at all. Other then that, use a deep conditioner at home to get some moisture back in your hair.
