I was diagnosed w/r/a several years ago.I was experiencing some pain in my hands occasionally.Recently I injured myself & found out that I had herniated two of my cervical discs.Within several days after my injury I began experiencing severe pain in my neck,shoulders,arms & hands to the point of not being able to perform the simple tasks such as brushing my teeth or hair or even getting dressed some mornings!It was excruiating!At the same time my wrists & hands swelled & still are some days worse than others which is something I had not ever experienced before.The only treatment that actually seemed to help so far that I have received has been neck traction & massage therapy w/tens unit.Actually this has been going on for almost five months now.
My question is how much of what I'm experincing is from the disc herniation issue and/or is some of this from the r/a if any?As I mentioned I had never experienced any other symptoms of the r/a except occassional pain in my hands.
The other symtoms I forgot to mention is the numbness & tingling in my hands & arms which was severe but has gotten better.
HELP!
