Sleep problems are a sign that sadness and stress may have slipped into more serious depression and anxiety. Talk to your doctor and get a few recommendations for a psychologist or clinical social worker in your area. It sounds like you could use some help working through the issues going on in your life. There are lots of great people out there who can help.

It sounds like you're going through a really tough time. The best thing you can offer yourself right now is self-compassion. Be gentle with your pain and try to tune in to what you need right now. Let yourself feel bad and even (this might seem extreme) embrace those feelings. Some psychologists suggest that depression is our body's way of giving ourselves time to reflect and grow. By allowing ourselves to withdraw, we acknowledge a problem in the status quo and give ourselves the opportunity to create positive change in our lives. Getting out of a depression usually requires challenging negative thoughts and testing new behaviors that might feel scary or unpleasant now. That healing process is what allows us to grow. Some depressions last only a short time and resolve naturally, but since yours has been going on for awhile, seeing a professional psychologist, psychiatrist or licensed clinical social worker is the best way to resolve those feelings. When I was a kid, whenever I was struggling or upset, my mom used to say to me, "this too shall pass." Remembering that always brings me comfort. While it may take time and effort, you will heal. Until then, be gentle and kind to yourself.

its hard, i know. i have been there too. but read scripture. pray to God. He loves you and is there for you. He is waiting for you. try to do relaxing things like take a bath, chill with the girls, (guys) things that make you happy. Get good night sleeps. Its really important. its also okay to cry. lean on the Lord for help.

totally understand what your going through. I am going through the same thing right now.. It's bad because I have to go to work, I have no more time to take off and I deal with the public, trying to put on a smile when all the while I want to cry is bad. See your doctor and talk to your doctor, see what recommendations they give you. seeing a councelor or talking to friends always helps too... life catches up to you and you feel lost, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to work through it.

Why don't you see a therapist? You might just need to vent. Talking things out can help you come to some realizations.
