What are you doing to get or stay healthy? Are you taking any supplements? What works for you?
I don't and neve haver taken any supplements, but i try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables when I can. Also try to exercise at least 2 - 3x a week and just started doing yoga!
I take a bowl full of supplements/herbs AM and PM, work out at the gym 3 days a week. I eat Metabolic Meals, which are free range, grass fed and wild caught and Carb/Protein preportioned. Think happy thought is a big factor.
I try to do yoga five times a week, walk instead of driving and eat a maximum of vegetables and fruits. I also take supplements.
I walk an hour every day rain or shine, exercise in the pool 2-3 times a week, eat the good stuff - fruits, veggies, whole grains, low-fat dairy, avoid anything with sugar or bad fat in it which eliminates processed foods. I always take stairs, park far away and walk the distance. I try not to sweat the small stuff and am exceedingly grateful I am alive, healthy and mostly pain-free.
I do excersice 5 days a week (more or less 10 hours a week), I do spinning, fitness, step and yoga.
I take supplements, like Centrum, Omega 3, C and E , I try to eat healthy due I have high cholesterol
I exercixe 6 days a week for an hour. I do 40-45 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes strength training I eat vegtables, 2 servings of fruit each day and I allow myself one really good snack per week. I just make sure the snack fits in the palm of my hand.
I take supplements because my body doesn't absorb most of the nutrients from the food I consume.
When the weather permits I go for a walk or bike ride simply because it makes me happy.
I do a fast paced walk for 3.5 miles 3 to 4 times a week and work out my upper body with push ups and 5 to 10 lb weights 2 times a week. I don't eat red meat, and as little fried foods as possible. I also try to eat at least a couple raw fruits and a salad each day. I have a son with Celiac Disease (cannot digest weat gluten). When he was diagnosed, I also tried to avoid it as much as possible and had a 5 lb drop in my weight. I was never very good at taking supplements until I turned 50 and my doctor reccomended that I take a good multi vitamin, 1000 mg D3 and a B12 that melts under your tounge. After a few months of taking these regularly I noticed not only do I have more energy, but my hair, eyes and skin all look better. I'm a believer now. Make sure you get good ones either online or from a health food store. Study up a little on them. I just take them 5 days a week.
Last Sunday I ran the San Francisco marathon. It was my birthday--the day I began my 70th year of life! It was great! Yes, I do take supplements and lots of them, eat a gluten-free, sugar-free diet, stay out of the sun, never smoked and am told I look 20+ years younger than my age.
I never skip breakfast, have spaced meals, three meals three snacksa, plenty of fruits, vegetables, wheat, fish small fish, small amount of rice/ wheat bread. half an hour walk in the evening everyday..
Love all the regular exercising you guys speak of; I walk often and take the stairs doing brisk walking without support from the rails. Yes, I believe supplements are needed because the foods we consume are very often lacking in the needed nutrients, quantities.... Omega 369, folic acid, b complex are my regular features and I feel great. Omega at nights gives me great zeeeez. You have to first of all determine where your shortfall is and then supplement. Fruits and veggies are daily must haves
