Hello, I am a 32 year old woman who is blessed (not really) with bad hormone levels. Both my mother and my sister struggle with this as well, but I am determined to figure out what I can do to lose this weight and feel better emotionally. There are some days where I just feel like giving up because I see no improvement to all the work I am doing. I constantly battle water retention and can not for the life of me lose this weight around my waist. I track what I eat and am a member with spark people (which is awesome) and I also exercise 30-60 minutes a day 3-5 days per week. I am active with my kids, take them bike riding, and make sure they stay active. I produce more estrogen then progesterone and some days I really feel myself control slipping and have my "freak out major pms" moments. Is there anything I can do to help my hormone levels balance out so I can be a "normal" woman who is healthy? Thanks for any help June (military wife and mom of 3)

I have Hormone imbalances as well. I have had the same predicament. Finally I went to a doctor that specializes in this area and am now on hormones which is helping. If you havent, I would ask a doctor about bioidentical hormones. they shouldnt be like birth control where you feel crazy. They should make you feel normal and good. I would definetly consult with a doctor.

You state that you are physically active and that you track what you eat, but you don't mention how you eat. Do you eat the typical American Diet (pizza, mac & cheese, burgers, hot dogs, white bread and pasta, and low on fresh fruit and veggies), if so, try less salt, sugar and processed foods and eat a diet with more fresh components in it.
