I am a pear shaped person need dress advice

I am a pear shaped person and recently ventured into online shopping. Now I really love this dress and want to make this purchase. Please advise how it will look on me. If you think it won't look good, can you give me a suggestion as to a jacket or some accessory that will make it look good on me.

Online shopping is fun! However if you want to look fabulous I think you should definately hit the dressing room to make sure everything fits perfectly.

I think the style is perfect for a pear shaped body. The detail on the top will draw the eye upward away from your larger hips, and the flare of the skirt will camouflage them. www.shapelyplus.com offers great information on dressing different body shapes.

I am a pear as well and shop online exclusively. Separates work best for me. I wear a lot of V neck shirts to draw the eye up. I rarely, if ever, wear dresses but do have 1 that is a slinky fabric with a plunging neckline and a slight empire waist that allows the fabric to skim the hips.

With online shopping, it is trial and error. Read reviews if you can before you buy and make sure you check out the return policy. Good luck!

I can't see the picture but dresses with vertical "princess" seams and a flared skirt or an empire waist that shows off your slim ribcage and pretty shoulders are usually a good bet. If the skirt's full you won't have to worry about fitting your hips at all.

Thank you so much! I have this problem too. You go into the store pick up something you like, and it doesn't fit your body type!! Drives me crazy! Go for pleated or flowy skirts and draw the eye to your upper half, put patterns on your shirts and have solid colour pants. This is mostly what I do.

I have the most difficult time finding anything because I am so small up top and so heavy on the bottom. I always thought I was Frankenstein due to two different body shapes. However, dresses are a lot easier to find than pants. If you are looking for good quality jeans, try Levi's Curve id's. I love them! They are kind of pricey, but worth every penny. Great quality and no tayloring :-)

i personally dislike wearing pants...it is nightmare to find one that works well. i finally bought the dress.so waiting for delivery..will let you know once it comes in..hehe

I would check the return policy before buying! Some companies will let you buy two sizes and return the one that doesn't work! Stick to brands that you know well when buying online! Hope this helps!
