If you want to know what your deodorant contains, why not make it yourself? It can be a fun activity, but it will also help you save money, be resourceful, and prevent waste.

Hard Deodorant
Ingredients for 3.5 ounces of the product:
0.5oz coconut butter
0.4oz mango butter
0.8oz glycerine
1oz sodium bicarbonate
1oz starch
15 drops of rosemary essential oil
10 drops of sage essential oil

Melt the butter over low heat, then add glycerine, sodium bicarbonate, and starch. Whisk everything together constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

When the mixture becomes thick and cohesive, remove it from heat, and add essential oils.

Pour the mixture into containers and let it harden for 12 hours. Apply the product to the clean, damp skin.

Coconut and mango butter will make the deodorant smell nice and keep the skin hydrated. It will also help the skin to absorb other ingredients better.

Sodium bicarbonate will prevent irritation and spread of bacteria, while the rosemary essential oil will prevent fungal skin growth, which often causes the bad smell. The sage essential oil disinfects the skin and closes the pores, therefore reducing the produced amount of sweat.

Eau de toilette (spray)
Ingredients you will need for 3.5 ounces of the product:
3oz of distilled water
0.3oz of 70% alcohol
10 drops of orange essential oil
10 drops of red mandarin essential oil
5 drops of lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients well and pour them into a spray bottle.

As alcohol is present in the ingredient list, this product will disinfect your armpits and keep the area dry. Alcohol will evaporate quickly, leaving the scent of essential oils. Lavender essential oil is excellent at preventing skin irritation and the growth of bacteria. The red mandarin essential oil will reduce sweating and keep the skin smelling nice.

The skin will need some time to get used to the natural ingredients in deodorants. This is why you will need to shower more frequently during the first few days. To speed this process up, exfoliate your armpits weekly and try consuming cleaner and more natural food.
