Drew Barrymore, founder of Flower Beauty and upcoming star of “Miss You Already,” is a pretty legit source of self-confidence advice. At 40, Drew radiates happiness. Maybe it’s because of her sheer number of years in the spotlight, but she never seems to get caught up in any of the drama or bullshit — and she certainly isn’t afraid to be herself and say exactly what she’s thinking.

In an interview with Glamour, the actress gets real and admits how tough it is to see your body change after having a baby. But she also gives sound advice for how moms can put things back in perspective:

“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff! It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird. But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children. When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!,” and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”

No, it’s not all smiles and roses, and your body isn’t supposed to suddenly become taught and snap back into its old self the second your baby pops out. It’s easy to lose sight of this and take your attention away from that incredible thing your body just did and fixate on how different you look. Which is why we love seeing a celebrity get so real about the topic. Kudos to you Drew — now please tell us how you look so damn good at 40!
