We tend to build up a lot of tension in our bodies due to daily activities like sitting for long periods, workouts, stress, or even always being on our phones. All these things make us constantly feel tired and tense. To relieve all that tension, try these five simple yoga moves to help tone your body and quickly destress.

Puppy pose

Puppy pose is the meaner version of a child’s pose because it offers a much deeper stretch through your body. It helps relieve your body of any tension around your shoulders and spine. This mix between child’s pose and downward dog targets all the muscles that tend to be stiff. If done regularly, it can completely transform your flexibility and reduce tension.

Camel pose

The camel pose is basically an impressive backbend that helps stretch your spine and helps relieve any tension in your lower back. Additionally, it opens up your chest. While it’s not an easy pose, with time and practice, it will make all the difference in your body.

According to the Yoga Journal, camel pose is not recommended if you have any previous back injury, blood pressure issues, or insomnia.

Pigeon pose

Pigeon pose is a personal favorite because it keeps me feeling super flexible and less tense at the same time. It truly targets every knot in your hips, glutes, and spine for the best stretch ever.

This pose may look intimidating at first, but it’s very relaxing and calming, helping you decompress after a long day.

Crescent Lunge

This pose is an intense workout, in my opinion. It’s very energizing, helping you open up your chest and stretch your entire core and hips. It’s an excellent pose if you’re looking for something that will help you release all that tension in your body and strengthens your core muscles and while improving flexibility.

Warrior II

Last but not least, the infamous warrior two pose is a super strengthening position for your body and mind. Not only does it make you feel like a strong hero, but it’s super beneficial for your core muscles and legs.
