In recent years, a swath of chain restaurants have proclaimed their menus have changed for the healthier. But a recent study of 26,000 entrées offered by 200 popular chains found that—despite major menu revisions and catchy slogans—overall calorie and sodium stats stayed the same from 2010 to 2011. Their “healthy” options often…aren’t. Case in point: McDonald’s Premium Southwest Salad with crispy chicken has more than twice the fat of their hamburger, and 180 percent as many calories.
