What’s even scarier: Melanoma survivors are nine times more likely to develop new melanoma than people who have never had the disease. Nearly 90 percent of melanoma is caused by UV radiation from the sun or tanning beds, so sun protection is a must for everyone, every day, regardless of cancer history.
