While women hold a paltry nine percent of global corporate board seats, studies have shown that companies with more female directors perform better. Why? A survey of more than 600 board directors found that while the men (75 percent of the sample) tended to base their business decisions on rules and traditions, the women were more flexible, willing to take risks and likely to consider others and collaborate.
