When it comes to shopping on Thanksgiving, retailers are doing everything they can to help your dollar go far. That means encouraging you to shop, even if it means on Thanksgiving Day itself. Traditionally, many stores stay closed on Thanksgiving leaving you in anticipation of the huge Black Friday sale the day after. Many of them still do. For shoppers who are interested in doing some shopping after enjoying dinner, here’s a list of stores that will remain open and stores that will remain closed on Thanksgiving.

Pet Smart – Pet Smart will remain closed on Thanksgiving day, but will open two hours earlier on Black Friday.

Dick’s Sporting Goods – Dick’s Sporting Goods will open its doors on Thanksgiving Day at 6pm and close at 2am, just to reopen at 5am.

Office Depot – The Office Depot and Office Max stores will be closed on Thanksgiving in order to allow customers and employees a chance to spend with their family.

Toys “R” Us – This store will open its doors at 5pm beginning Thanksgiving Day evening and will remain open for 30 hours straight.

JCPenny – Unlike Nordstrom, this department store will open its doors on Thanksgiving Day at 3pm. To encourage shopping, some shoppers will receive coupons valued up to $500 – now that’s a huge incentive to shop on Thanksgiving!

TJX Stores – The TJX brands are behind retail stores like T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. They have opted to stay closed on Thanksgiving so that store associates can have time to spend with family and friends.
