You’re not alone if you waited until last minute to get your feet in shape right as temps in the 80s hit. Winter is easy. We live in our socks and hide our shame from everyone in sight. Summer isn’t so forgiving.

Fortunately, there are some easy steps you can take to revitalize your winter-ravaged feet and get them looking shiny and new. Read on!

1. Try Baby Foot
This excellent foot peel from Japan gets rid of dry, cracked skin to reveal healthy skin below. Keep in mind, this treatment takes about two weeks and makes your feet look like a shedding snake while it works its magic. You don’t want to do this if you’re a few days away from a beach vacay!

2. Epsom Salt to the Rescue
If you’re in a rush and don’t want to spend two weeks while your old skin sheds off (or find it disgusting and inconvenient), then it’s time to soak off your rough heels with the help of some Epsom salt! The salt helps soften the skin a bit faster than a regular foot soak. Add a cup to a bowl of warm water and soak your feet in it for 15 minutes.

3. Scrub it off!
The skin should be nice and soft now, so time to buff those babies! Use a pumice stone on the rough and thick skin. Don’t use it on healthy or smooth skin! Use gentle pressure and buff in circular motions until the skin starts shedding. Don’t overdo it, or you can risk rubbing your skin raw and creating a wound.

4. Time for a sleep mask
Use a thick lotion or oil you love, like avocado or almond oil, and then put on some soft cotton socks before you head to bed. The socks will keep your feet warm and help the lotion penetrate and keep your feet nice and smooth.

Enjoy your new, soft feet without the calluses and cracks! Remember always to wear proper fitting shoes to discourage any callus and blister formation. This is the best way to ensure that your feet stay tip-top condition the entire summer.
