If there was one trend at this years Grammy Awards, it was natural makeup — even on celebs known for their at-times over-the-top looks. Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé all rocked the “no makeup, makeup” look to perfection.
Of course being a full-fledged member of the Bey-hive, my semi-biased opinon says Queen Bey outshined the other ladies with her glam-yet-still-subtle look: radiant skin, nude lips and mermaid waves. All in all, Bey had a naturally gorgeous vibe — and lucky us, it’s easy to do at home:
- The best part of Beyonce’s look was her blemish-free, radiant skin. Try an illuminating foundation such as Dolce & Gabbana’s The Foundation Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation ($60). This lightweight formula is silky and moisturizing to give a dewy finish. For a less spendy option, try L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup ($13).
- After applying foundation, lightly brush on an illuminating powder on your cheekbones, nose and brownbones to reflect light Urban Decay Naked Illuminated ($29) works to give a sexy flush and iridescent shimmer without going over the top.
- Next, run lengthening mascara through your lashes, starting as close to the root as possible and moving through the lash line slowly. This will open up your eyes for her “wide awake” look.
- As a final touch, apply a nude lipstick such as Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color in Bare All ($8), layered with a gloss such as Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Freestyle ($20)
