I can never resist a “Sex and the City” rerun. Pat Fields’s bold-yet-timeless styling contributes to the appeal just as much as the excellent writing.
Despite her impeccable taste, some of the boho braided belts and cowboy hats look a little dated, but what always remains enviable is SJP’s hair. As the summer heats up, one particular style is top of mind: her impressive cotton candy bun.
We’ve teamed with veteran backstage guru Travis Speck of the Sally Hershberger Salon to demonstrate a few variations on the bun. Travis was most recently responsible for the hair at the Naeem Kahn resort show and tends to the tresses of such cool girls as rock band Au Revoir Simone and Nina Pierson of The Cardigans. Travis also trims the locks of Kelly Framel of The Glamourai and he is the one hairdresser I constantly go back to after straying from time to time. He knows what’s up, and here are his tips and tricks.
