Infinity Sun Glow on the Go, $40

As a redhead with freckles, tanning isn’t an option for me. Although I’m grateful my fair complexion forces me to slather on SPF — the best anti-aging move I could have done for my skin — I like having a faux sun-kissed glow now and then, especially during summer months when I’m baring more skin.

Enter Infinity Sun Glow on the Go — a self-tanner in a spray can that boasts perpetually-tan celebrity fans, including Jessica Alba and Giuliana Rancic. Unlike most self-tanners that can strip your skin of moisture, Infinity Sun Glow on the Go contains hydrating essential oils, as well as anti-aging antioxidants.

To use, exfoliate first to slough off any dry, dead skin cells. Spray the self-tanner four to six inches away from your skin, backing off even more on any rough spots such as your knees and elbows. Rub it in to make sure the product is evenly distributed, and then wash your hands so they don’t stain a telltale brown. Don’t shower for at least eight hours after applying. In other words, apply the self-tanner before you go to bed and wake up with a tan!

The self-tanner gave a natural-looking tan without a hint of orange and only left behind a mildly starchy scent. Infinity Sun boasts that the color lasts seven days, which is a lifetime for the majority of self-tanners. I’ve found that most stick around about 24 hours post-shower before lightening up, but Infinity Sun Glow on the Go maintained its tan tint for a solid four days before starting to fade. That makes it the longest-lasting self-tanner I’ve ever used. Color me impressed — and sun-kissed. -Rachel Grumman Bender, Staff Writer
