Themed beauty products are nothing new. There have been chocolate-inspired eye shadow palettes, fruit-flavored lip balms, and more for ages.

Fruit-themed skincare also isn’t new. It seems like there have been scented products on the market as long as skincare has been a thing.

But, as of late, fruit-themed skincare is taking off. It seems like every brand with a skincare line has launched something with watermelon or fruit-infused products.

There are classics like Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow line, but things have multiplied a lot since then.

Fruity skincare products are coming out in all price ranges and all flavors. But, what is the benefit of this?

Well, many fruits have enzymes that can help exfoliate, nourish, or hydrate the skin. With that, fruit in skincare isn’t always about the benefits. Sometimes it is there for the marketing or, worse, the scent.

So, what about the latest fruit-themed skincare? Is it healthy for your skin? Or is it all just to get you excited for the promise of juicy skin?

Let’s see.

ELF Jelly Poppin’ Skincare (Shop here)

ELF has had a Jelly Pop collection out for a while now, but it recently launched some more products for this popular range. The products from this line are some of their bestsellers, so it’s no wonder it expanded.

To what you ask? Well, a new skincare set that features watermelon extract for advanced hydration. The line even comes in jelly-like packaging. It is reminiscent of those jelly sandals from the ’90s. That may be enough of a hook for some shoppers. The watermelon-themed collection contains a cleanser, a moisturizer, and a glitter face mask.

But, for those that like to know about the ingredients, are these products any good? They do have some impressive claims, and there is, in fact, watermelon extract in each of them, which is great to see. On the other hand, they also contain fragrance which can cause breakouts and irritation. Plus, although essentially safe, the glitter in the face mask can also be irritating, especially for sensitive skin.

GLAMGLOW BERRYGLOW Probiotic Recovery Face Mask (Shop here)

GLAMGLOW is well known for face masks. With masks for acne, aging, and hydration, there is something for everyone, but that didn’t stop the brand from doing it again. The latest face mask is described as lightweight and has a plethora of claims.

This tub of speckled goodness is filled with super berries and probiotics to help repair the skin’s barrier. According to GLAMGLOW, this mask will help with dryness, dullness, uneven texture, plus fine lines and wrinkles.

With the berries, more specifically, blueberry, cranberry, and goji berry, there are many benefits. Blueberries can help with inflammation as well as balance. Cranberries are rich in vitamin C, and goji berries contain amino acids that help to improve the skin’s texture.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (Shop here)

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is nothing new in the skincare industry. It is a favorite for tons of people. And the original scent, berry, is fruit-themed.

But, the latest launch from Laneige is this lip mask with a peach iced tea scent. You can go to sleep with luscious and hydrated lips and smell the refreshing aroma of this delicious summer beverage.
