Adele has gone under wraps for the past few years. She was recently divorced and had a significant weight loss transformation, but it looks like 2020 might just be the year she’s making her name known again with a new album.
It’s been five years since Adele released an album, her last being the award-winning album “25.” And I mean, who hasn’t missed her fantastic voice and catchy lyrics in the past five years?
This past weekend, a video leaked of Adele singing karaoke at a wedding and announcing that she would release an album in September. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, people have been speculating that a record is definitely in the making. Music Week recently posted that Adele’s agent, Lucy Dickins, and her manager, Jonathan Dickins, hinted at the possibility of an album at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in January. And if it’s coming from her agent and manager, it has to be true- right?
Adele is definitely someone who sings from the heart, and all her previous albums reflect that. So it makes even more sense that 2020 would be the year of Adele after her birthday post on Instagram back in May. In the post, Adele candidly revealed that 30 was just not her year.
“30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean into it all.” she wrote. “31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once.”
So going by Adele’s words, hopefully, 31 IS her year, and with that, we’re blessed with an album. Fingers crossed!
