If there’s one thing we’re all missing in 2020, it’s concerts. There’s nothing quite like going to a music festival or concert and seeing your favorite artists preform live. But COVID-19 and concerts do not hand in hand. So, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until a bunch of strangers can come together for their mutual love of music.

However, while concerts might not be a thing this summer, the MTV VMAs still are! This year’s VMAs will take place on August 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. MTV announced on August 4 which artists will be preforming. There’s no announcement of who the host is yet, but the performances will take place throughout the five NYC boroughs. It has not yet been revealed how much of the show will be broadcasted from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and how much will be done remotely. But, here are all the artists you can expect to see at this year’s VMAs:

BTS
This marks the first time that the iconic K-pop band BTS will be performing at the VMAs. They are nominated for three awards: best pop, best K-pop, and best choreography. Their performance will also feature the TV debut of their new single, “Dynamite.”

J Balvin
J Balvin is a Colombian reggaeton singer and he is nominated for four awards at this year’s VMAs: best collaboration and three nods for best Latin, which he has won the past two years. We’re excited to see what his performance will bring.

Doja Cat
A Doja Cat performance is not going to disappoint. She is nominated for three awards: best direction, best new artist, and song of the year for the iconic song “Say So.”

More performances will be announced at a later date. As for further nominations, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga both have nine nominations each. Billie Eilish and The Weeknd have six nominations each. As for what else we can expect from this year’s VMAs, only time will tell!
