Don’t Use Your Bed for Anything Other Than Sleeping
If you both work, scroll through social media and sleep on your bed, your brain won’t have a distinction between these things. Try to use separate physical space for separate activities. If you use your bed only for sleeping, your body and mind will slowly make the connection, and it will be much easier to fall asleep once you are in your bed.
Avoid Drinking Coffee or Alcohol Late in The Day
This one is obvious. However, you might still do it without realizing it. Attempt to stop consuming caffeine and alcohol in the afternoon or evening. Caffeine is a stimulus and will prevent you from falling asleep, while alcohol will disrupt your sleep cycle and may cause you to wake in the middle of the night.
Try to Fall Asleep at The Same Time
By falling asleep and waking up at the same time each day, you will set up a habit that your body will eventually learn to follow. This may be hard in the beginning, but give it time, and you will see the results. You will be falling asleep easier and will get good quality sleep.
Don’t Look at Your Phone
Certain activities can help your body and mind to prepare for sleep. Scrolling through social media isn’t one of them. A blue light on your phone can disturb your sleeping cycle, and some activities which include using your phone are too stimulating. Try reading a book, listening to some music, or meditating instead.
Don’t Sleep Without Your Socks
This one may seem weird, but sleeping with your socks on can help regulate your body temperature, which will cause better sleep quality. Even though you may never sleep with socks, try it and decide whether it works for you.
