Female sexuality and shame is an endlessly fascinating subject. That’s why it took filmmaker Sheona McDonald two years to follow three women for a raw and comprehensive look at the issue. The result, a feature-length documentary called “Inside Her Sex,” features strap-ons, bondage, spanking, threesomes, and vibrators, and fairy wings. And that’s just the trailer!“There’s so much shame attached to women actively wanting [sex] and actively making it a priority in their life,” says Elle Chase, a popular sex blogger and featured woman in the documentary. The movie also features Candida Royale, the creator of Femme Productions Inc., an adult film company designed to speak with a woman’s voice and promote positive sexual role modelling for couples and Samantha Allen, the ex-devout Mormon and current gender, sex, and tech writer for The Daily Beast and freelance writer elsewhere.”Inside Her Sex” will air on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s documentary channel on December 14 and is seeking distributors in the U.S. I will be very surprised if this don’t get picked up!
