The Kardashian-Jenner clan are never ones to shy away from their business ventures. Between their various makeup brands and fashion lines, it’s no surprise they’re one of the wealthiest families. Kim Kardashian West’s most prominent project is her new solution wear line called Skim. The business has been a long time coming, and it hasn’t been an easy journey for the beauty mogul.
The collection includes underwear, bras, shorts, and bodysuits for every body type and skin tone. They are meant to be worn every day and in any situation.
“I think all the other business I’ve had has led me up to that moment where I feel totally confident saying this is what we’re doing and…if you wear shapewear you will love this,” Kardashian West said in an interview.
She revealed she had been designing the line for over 15 years. It took years of hard work, patience, and dedication for the brand to get to where it is today.
Although the brand didn’t start on the right foot- the brand was initially called Kimono but received backlash for it being cultural appropriation. But Kim decided to stop the brand premiere once criticism rolled in and renamed it ultimately. Hence, where the name Skim comes in.
The size-inclusive brand includes sizes ranging from XXS to 4XL and nine shade options.
The brand is officially out and open to the public and has since received high acclaim. One thing Kardashian West wants you to take from the brand is that it is not “shapewear.” It is solution wear. And it’s for everyone.
