2019 was an iconic year in the fashion industry. The ’90s and 2000s came back in style, and mini bags, animal print, and hair accessories became a fashion staple in every store. So, to say we’re expecting big things in 2020 is an understatement. I don’t see the throwback fashion trends going anywhere in the new year, but I’m excited to see what else the fashion industry has in store. But for now, these are the trends we’re hoping to see a lot of in 2020:
A ’90s staple, fuzzy sweaters were seen everywhere this fall and winter. I’m expecting this trend to stay in the new year and even continue into the summer with fuzzy crop tops and tees.
Always a classic, never a bad idea. Halter tops have been a fashion piece that always goes in and out of style, but this year we’re making it a staple. Halter tops and dresses alike are a cute way to bring a touch of the ’90s into your style.
Tattoo Print Tops
Not going to lie, I didn’t expect this one to come back in style- but here it is, coming in full force. We see tattoo print tops more and more, and I’m starting to see the appeal. Worn underneath slip dresses or tank tops makes for a fun and quirky way to style an outfit.
Plaid has always been in style, but in 2020 we’re taking it to a whole new level with bright colors and patterns. Goodbye to the classic grey and black, this year is going to be full of neon colors and mix-matched patterns.
Sunglasses are an absolute necessary part of every outfit, and in true Bella Hadid fashion, colorful, tiny, and retro sunglasses are totally in style. I mean, do you really need your sunglasses to block the sun if they look super cute with your outfit?
Tights are more than just a way to keep your legs warm with a dress in the winter. They add a fun twist to any outfit. Better yet, get your tights in a cool design or pattern to make your style even more unique.
Wear it alone, or over a turtleneck, corset tops are totally in style and are an easy way to spice up an outfit. Leather corset tops, velvet corset tops, or satin corset tops- whatever your style is, there’s a corset out there for you.
Corduroy EVERYTHING is in style this year. From pants to button-ups to bucket hats, we’re throwing it back to the ’70s with corduroy. Not only is it super stylish, but corduroy is also practical for the winter as it’s warm and cozy for those colder days.
