The diet is based in olive oil, nuts, fish, beans, fruits and vegetables, plus minor alcohol consumption and few dairy products. A new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine showed that a Mediterranean diet supplemented with olive oil led to a forty percent reduction in diabetes risk. You can now feel free to add olive oil – as long as it’s atop a fish or veggie!
