The Science of Hair

The hair we see is actually a dead protein called keratin.  Hair gets its color from the hair cortex, which contains pigment.  The more pigment, the darker the hair.  We lose hair, or develop bald spots, as a result of reduced hormone levels.  Watch this video for more details on hair science!
