Welcome to the Golden Age of Television, where TV junkies have at least three shows they can’t get enough of at any point in time.  Never in the history of television has there been more shows to obsess over and watch for hours on end thanks to streaming services, such as Neflix and Hulu.  Whether you are into sci-fi, drama, romance, or crime-thrillers, there is a show or two designed for you!  Grab some popcorn, get comfortable, and read on for a list of the top three most binge-worthy Netflix and Hulu Originals:

  1.   Stranger Things

This sci-fi Netflix Original series is arguably the most popular show on Netflix and for good reason.  Inspired by the works of Steven King, Steven Spielberg, and other pop-culture staples of the 80’s, Stranger Things takes place in the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, a seemingly quiet community, where nothing interesting happens.  When a young boy, however, mysteriously vanishes, things start to get…well, strange.  Stranger Things is a show that will immediately suck you in due to the flawless chemistry among the talented cast and its unnerving, compelling story of monsters and alternate dimensions.

  1.   The Handmaid’s Tale

Imagine, as a woman, having your rights stripped away, your children pried out of your hands, and being forced to live a life of complete subservience to all men.  This is the reality for the women in the critically-acclaimed Hulu Original series The Handmaid’s Tale.  At the heart of the dystopian drama is Offred, one of the several women abducted to unwillingly serve as a handmaid.  As a fertile woman, Offred is forced to live with a man and his wife in the patriarchal society of Gilead for the sole purpose of bearing a child for the couple.  The Handmaid’s Tale is a must-watch for both women and men, as its classic themes of feminism and misogyny are sure to resonate with all viewers.

  1.   Mindhunter

Immerse yourself into the twisted mind of a demented serial killer with the 2017 Netflix Original series Mindhunter.  Meet Holden Ford and Bill Tench, two FBI agents who travel the country interviewing serial killers to identify what drives an individual to violently murder innocent people.  By speaking with American serial killers, such as Ed Kemper and Richard Speck, Ford and Tench gain a lot of insight into the behavior of murders and rapists, helping them create criminal profiling techniques and procedures to predict and catch future murderers.  If you are fascinated by criminal psychology and can’t get enough of true crime television, Mindhunter will not disappoint.
