Don’t Let Your Stress Show

Stress is a powerful emotion and everyone reacts to it differently. Stress wreaks havoc on your physical and emotional health, as well as on your relationships. A new study in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology identified four distinct coping mechanisms that hurt your personal relationships: intrusive, cold, nonassertive and exploitable. Stress not only impacts your psychological health, but your physical health as well. It can cause your skin to look three to six years older, as well as prompting flare-ups of acne, eczema, rosacea and dandruff. The classic sign of stress is tired eyes—stress causes difficulty sleeping and therefore leaves dark eye circles. Despite the many signs of stress, don’t lose hope! After a particularly stressful week, it’s a good idea to splurge on some products that can combat your worries. Whether you need a dandruff reducing shampoo, products to help your acne, or creams and makeup to cover your under-eye circles, there is a product for everything. Unfortunately, the store cannot offer a cure to your emotional stress, but a few deep breaths and a good night’s sleep is a good start.
