Between Botox, Juvederm, vacation breasts and Cinderella lips, it’s hard to know which injectable plastic surgery procedures are worthwhile and what’s a quick fix for a “problem” you’d be better off embracing. Celebrities are often early adopters, willing (or forced) to try out the newest procedures that eventually trickle down to the waiting masses. We notice when our favorite star fills a wrinkle or lets her lips go limp, and then, we ask about it. These eight celebs have been open about their thoughts on injectables – yay, nay, and in between.
The ageless star once threw the Internet into a frenzy with her pledge that she wasn’t going to “inject shit into her face.” She elaborated on her stance on injectables for Yahoo! Beauty: “It just doesn’t help. It’s a slippery, slippery slope. And like we were saying before, [women] just start to lose perspective, it’s their new normal, so it’s a hard one to come back from.”
The Morning Show host is known for taking no prisoners when it comes to her body. She gets Botox “every seven months or so,” to make her eyes “look a little more open on TV.” Ripa told Elle that she also gets injections in her armpits to avoid sweating, which sounds trifling unless your job includes hugging people on live TV.
The GOOPy celeb has always been forthcoming about her beauty routines, and Botox is no exception. “I’ve probably tried everything,” Gwyn told BAZAAR, “I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy.”
Jenner probably would have kept us marveling at her “naturally” plump lips forever if it wasn’t for the disastrous #KylieJennerChallenge. To stop her teen fans from potentially DIY lip surgeries, she admitted to using “temporary lip fillers.” The 17-year-old then went on to justify her actions: “It’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do.”
Her years in the industry come with a wisdom about how to treat your body: “I’ve tried Botox, I’ve tried it all. I’m definitely not one of those people who says, ‘You shouldn’t do this.’ Everyone individually can do what they want.”
The actress isn’t a fan of wrinkle fillers and she wants you to stop asking about it. Last year, she posted a Facebook album entitled “THINGS YOU CAN’T DO WITH YOUR FACE WHEN YOU HAVE BOTOX” featuring her forehead in the types of twisted positions that Botox eliminates from your facial vocabulary. We get it.
You’ve probably seen the “Teen Mom”‘s infamous Instagram photo of her allergic reaction to a lip injection, which were so swollen her boyfriend “thought they might pop.” The reality TV star turned to E!’s “Botched” to bring her lips back down to human size, but she admitted she’ll probably be back at the plastic surgeon for another round of plumping injections soon as she heals.
Montag has been open about the 10 different plastic surgery procedures she had done at one time, including breast implants, a brow lift, a nose job revision, a chin reduction, lipo on the neck and thighs, ear pinning, and, yes, injectables into her forehead and cheeks. “I was in so much pain, and like, literally crying and just saying, I — I felt like I wanted to die almost.”
