After a long, harsh winter, are the bottoms of your feet looking less-than-attractive right now? You could scare your next pedicurist … or you could try an easy at-home foot treatment. This hybrid DIY beauty project works well as both a scrub and a mask. Exfoliate your feet with sugar and oatmeal, then let it sit on your feet for a few minutes so your toes can soak up the benefits of the moisturizing vitamin E, olive oil and sweet almond oil.

Sugar Cookie Foot Scrub
by Anne-Marie Faiola, Founder and CEO of Handmade Beauty Box

  • 4 oz. Sugar
  • ½-1 oz. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 oz. Sweet Almond Oil
  • 0.25 oz. Vitamin E
  • 0.2 oz. Long Cooking Oatmeal, finely ground
  • ¼ tsp. Vanilla Extract

Choose a bowl that can fit both feet comfortably. Fill it with water that is hot tub temperature (between 102 and 104 F).

Use a food processor to finely grind the long cooking oatmeal. Then combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Keep adding olive oil until you have a paste-like texture. Rub the mixture on your feet in a circular motion for about 1 minute. Then leave it on your skin for about 10 minutes and rinse.

Yields 2-3 scrubs. Use within seven days.
