Amber Heard and Jonny Depp were married for two years before divorcing in 2017. However, just recently, a lot has come out about the truth of their rather tumultuous relationship.

In testimony in his libel suit against a British tabloid that accused him of domestic abuse, Depp claimed that Heard hit with him a “haymaker” punch at the end of their marriage. He denies all claims of abuse towards Heard and is suing multiple publications for false statements calling him abusive. In his time in the High Court witness box, Depp did reveal how he and Heard would often have intense arguments that sometimes turned physical, but he never hit her.

The strangest part of their turbulent relationship? Depp claims that on the day after Heard’s 30th birthday part in 2016, one of their cleaners found feces in their bed. Heard said it was one of their dogs, but Depp strongly believes it was done by Heard herself or one of her friends. Heard also claims that Depp threw a magnum wine bottle at her the night of the part, but Depp denies it. Depp claims that was also the last straw in their marriage, and they initially parted on good terms.

However, later on in 2016, Depp continued to get frustrated that he was being labeled a “wife-beater”. Heard has made many allegations claiming domestic abuse between 2013 to 2016, and Depp has vehemently denied every one of them. Depp has revealed that their relationship was anything but smooth and that he told Heard: “Listen, we are a crime scene waiting to happen.” However, he denied ever being physically violent with her.

There’s absolutely no denying that the relationship was eruptive. The court case has consisted of a lot of “he said, she said.” Depp has his former partners Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder testify for him not being abusive. Heard is attending a three-week trial and testifying next week.
