Men Like Pretty Hair Dye, Too! (On Their Beards)

Men need to draw attention to themselves somehow now that decorative beard season is over. The solution is ”unicorn hair,” Refinery 29 reports, a brother to the rainbow hair dye trend that cropped up throughout 2014. Some dudes like Tyler Dean King (featured in the self-portrait above) even do an ombre look, starting with dark hair on top and getting lighter through their sideburns and down to the beard.

Pamela Gonzalez, colorist at Cutler, has recently done what the salon terms “avant-garde” men’s beard color. The service starts at $100, but may cost more dependent on just how rainbow you’ve decided to go. Gonzalez also warned that not everyone’s skin is “tough” enough to handle a service like this. You really do have to be pretty manly to pull off a rainbow beard.

This is what 2015 looks like, friends! It’s rainbow:

Just in case you try this at home (which we do not recommend), here’s an article from CoolMensHair.com you may want to bookmark: How to Remove Hair Dye From Face – 5 Inexpensive Alternatives to Salon Products. “Obviously, prevention is the best way” to remove blue rainbow dye from your skin, CoolMensHair warns. But just in case, you can try wet cigarette ashes, toothpaste, dish soap with baknig soda, vinegar, or nail polish remover. Good luck!
