Calling all plant-based people! Burger King has officially launched their very own Impossible Whopper, and it has people questioning whether it’s real meat or not. Vegetarians and vegans alike have consistently missed out on the joy that is a fast-food burger for far too long. So it’s extra exciting to hear the release of a plant-based fast-food burger option.

What does this Impossible Whopper taste like, you ask? Pretty much exactly like the real thing. The burger is entirely plant-based, made out of soy protein, potato protein, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and heme. So, not only does it look, taste, and smell like real meat- it’s not made out of a bunch of junk, too. The Impossible Whopper includes all the topping goodness that’s found on a regular Burger King whopper, so you really won’t be missing out on anything.

I’ve been a vegetarian for basically my entire life, and haven’t had a fast-food burger since I was a kid. I grew up watching in envy as my friends enjoyed burgers and chicken nuggets as I sadly ate just my fries. So, when I heard about the Impossible Whopper, I was eager to get my hands on it.

And boy, did it not disappoint. The Impossible Whopper is decently sized, and when paired with fries would make for quite the filling meal. When I opened it up, I doubted for a second if they accidentally gave me the wrong meal. It looked that much like a real burger patty. After deciding that they didn’t mess up my order and that the burger looks that real, I bit in. It tasted just like the fast-food burgers I used to have as a kid, and I enjoyed every last bite. The Impossible Whopper lives up to the hype, and whenever I’m in the mood for fast food, it’s going to be my food of choice.
