There’s no better time to spend a cold night inside, snuggled up with your bae than the fall. Hot cocoa in hand, a pumpkin spice candle lit, and a romantic chick flick on screen. We tend to watch movies in the season that they take place (except Christmas movies, those are good all year long), and there are amazing movies that are set around the fall. So, if your fall plans include laid up inside with your boo, here are some movies you can put on your list:

1You’ve Got Mail

I mean, who doesn’t love a classic star crossed lovers storyline, and You’ve Got Mail hits the nail on the head. Although the movie takes place throughout the year, there are some fall highlights. And it takes place in New York City- and who doesn’t love fall in New York?

2When Harry Met Sally

Again, another romantic classic that takes place in the fall in New York. “When Harry Met Sally” begs us to find the answer to the question we all want to know: can men and women truly be just friends?

3Halloweentown

Arguably the best Halloween movie there is to exist. I’m just saying. Not only is Halloweentown the perfect movie to get you in the Halloween mood, but it also is full of leaves, pumpkins, and everything we love about fall.

4The Princess Bride

This movie is an all-time classic based on the novel of the same name. Although it’s not directly related to fall, the setting and cinematography have fall written all over it.

5October Sky

The name says it all. A classic football movie and everyone knows football and fall go hand in hand. But the fall theme and loads of sunsets put us right in the fall mood.

6Hocus Pocus

Another Halloween classic. Hocus Pocus is also one of the best Halloween movies, and nothing says fall between than binge-watching Halloween movies months before Halloween, right?

7Stepmom

This movie features Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, so we know it’s bound to be a good one. It’s another classic that takes place in the fall in New York, which makes for the most comforting of settings. And all the sweaters, hats, and scarves make us want it to be cold.

8Autumn in New York

Okay, need we say more? The name says enough. If you want a fall-themed movie, this one pretty much does it all. It’s a classic love story about two people no one thought would end up together.
