Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women. And as women valiantly fight the battle, researchers are working to find links to factors that may assist with prevention.

In a recent study, they delved deeper into the effects of specific dietary factors. They observed studied three groups of women – one ate a strict Mediterranean diet supplemented with EVOO, another a Mediterranean diet incorporating nuts, and a control group. They found that the women who incorporated EVOO into their diet had a 68% lower risk of malignant breast cancer than the control group! But the group who incorporated nuts didn’t have a significant reduction in risk. Though much more research is needed, the health benefits of incorporating EVOO into your diet are undeniable!
