We know exercise boosts mental health, but why? A new study of over 7,000 Dutch students suggests it’s two-fold: First, a better body gets you more positive feedback from peers and improved self-image. And second, the social interaction involved in being on a sports team helps build relationships, which in turn benefits mental health. 

It’s never too old to learn a sport. Find a group or team in your neighborhood and get playing!
