Exercise has a ton of benefits—from heart disease and osteoporosis prevention, to a decrease in depression, to a smaller waistline. The American Heart Association recommends that we each strive for 10,000 steps a day, or about five miles.

How to fit it all in? Get a pedometer to track your movement throughout the day. Try walking your kids to school, strolling over to colleagues’ desks instead of emailing them, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator. It’s a wonderful feeling to see that pedometer ring in at 10,000 steps!
