Keratosis pilaris is a variant of eczema that causes tiny red bumps that usually show up on your arms, shoulders, thighs, back or butt. Though occasionally itchy, these goose-bumpy dots are typically not accompanied by any other symptoms—except annoyance. There’s no cure for K.P., and scrubbing only makes things worse. To smooth things out, chemical exfoliators and retinoids, along with a good moisturizer, are your best bet.
